The twin screw extruder has many of the requirements of a single screw extruder but has the ability to be self cleaning and wiping and by using a combination of screw elements and barrel section to profile the product to the required condition or consistency. Twin screw extruders are very precise machines and can be used for simple compounding to continuous chemical reactor for a variety of thick and difficult to handle product
