Scrape surface or swept surface heat exchanger designed for thicker products. Scrape surface heat exchangers have a rotating shape with attached scrapes inside the product barrel rotates to scrape product off the barrel walls to provide more consistent heat exchange. The barrel is surround by a jacket, which contains heat exchange media for either heating or cooling the product.
304 S/S, scrape surface heat exchanger with 7.8 sq. ft. of heat transfer area rated to 250psi @ 100F. Dual jacketed (jackets on both the inner and outer walls) design for cooling with direct expansion refrigerant, chilled water, or water / glycol mixture. Has 5/8" wide product annulus, 7" diameter x 40" high chamber, pump recirculated refrigeration system, Fischer actuator, insulated recirculation tubing, No. 4 sanitary finish on contact parts, automatic temperature controller, Moore valve service transducer, and variable speed rotor.

Atmospheric continuous scrape surface heat exchanger is constructed of stainless steel with a sanitary design. Unit can concentrate 4000 pounds of caramel syrup per hour with a heat transfer area of approximately 150 sq ft. The tubular sanitary design of the evaporator allows for high working pressures in both jackets allowing for more production in less time. Alfa Laval, Model 6 x 9 Contherm, Vertical, (3) concentered, scrape surface heat exchanger system has (3) 72" x 9" stainless steel tubes, with amount of product per hour each tube – depending on materials and application. Equipped with 9 ft² of heat transfer area each tube, working temperature range of -30 to +300 Deg F, with top mounted motor drives and 2-1/2"OD / 1-3/4" ID product inlet and outlet ports each cylinder. Main top mounted control panel with individual controllers for each tube has motor, speed and temperature start, stop controls with readout and CIP system controller with start, stop and e-stop controls. Each mounted on individual pedistal style stainless steel stands. Product enters the cylinder through the lower port and flows upwards through cylinder simultaneously and media travels in a countercurrent flow through the narrow channel and rotating blades remove product from cylinder wall to ensure uniform heat transfer to the product and is ideal for food products as well as other applications.
