Metal detecting heads are fully capable metal detecting units. Metal detector heads are not designed to move product through the metal detecting field. However, metal detecting heads can be integrated to conveyor systems or other types of conveying systems with relative ease.

When integrating a metal detector head to a product conveying system, it should be remember that the electro-magnetic field generated by the metal detector extends beyond the metal detector. Therefore, to avoid detecting metal in the components of the conveyor system, careful consideration should be paid to the materials of construction for the conveying system.
