A Disc counter counts tablets or pills using a disc with a number of holes in it (the number of holes matches the number of pills or tablets to be counted). The holes in the disc are size to only accept one of the tablets or pills to be counted. As the disc rotates below a hopper of tablets or pills, the proper number of pills will fill in the holes in the disc. The disc then rotates to a position where the pills drop out of the disc and into the pill container.
