Metal detecting conveyors are metal detecting units or heads that have been integrated with a plastic conveyor belt running through the metal detecting head to carry product through the metal detector.
Often metal detectors with conveyors are designed with a mechanism to reject or discharge products or packages in which metal has been detected. Metal detectors can be designed with a number of different reject mechanisms, including mechanical pusher arms, pneumatic air blow-offs, conveyor stops, drop noses, and diverter gates.
