There are many different names that are used to describe particle size reduction: milling, grinding, granulating, comminuting, etc. Milling systems can size reduce wet or dry powders. Their are variable speed drives that permit low speed screening and high speed impacting with one milling system. A typical milling system consists of an inlet chamber with a rotor screen and an outlet. The particle size depends upon the speed of the rotor, rotor type, screen hole size and the feed rate of the product. High shear granulation turns powders into dense granules for tableting or coating. Powders are added to a mixing bowl. A large impeller spins the powders into a vortex. A chopper tool shears the granules and removes the air. The granulated product is dried in the mixing bowl or fluid bed dryer.

Equipped with an 11½" wide x 16" long vibratory feed pan, (2) 12" wide x 18" diameter jacketed compression rollers each powered by a 7½ drive, air over hydraulic pump, pneumatic scrapers and 30" ground clearance from the frame.

Equipped with a 2½"OD / 2"ID Tri-clamp inlet with 9" ground clearance, jacketed stator housing, hand wheel adjustable rotor-stator gap and 2½" OD / 2"ID Tri-Clamp discharge with 10½" ground clearance. Rotor powered by a 20 HP drive. Control panel with start / stop switch.

J H Day, heavy duty 3-Roll dispersion mill rated from 100 to 700 lbs of product per hour – depending on materials and application. Equipped with 12" diameter x 34" long feed, and middle rollers, with scraper blades and 12"diameter x 34 "long apron roller, each with 32" long working roll area, total of 3 rollers. All 3 are cooled rolls made of hardened steel and each has 1-1/4" diameter port for cooling medium, start / stop controllers with (2) e-stops, 25 Hp chain motor drive and is mounted on heavy duty cast iron frame. Ideal for grinding, printing ink, lacquers, adhesives, and paints. Last used in a adhesive operation.

Equipped with 3" rotor, 7.5 gal – 1 cubic foot hopper, 1-1/2" tri-clover connections and 18" discharge, 5 Hp drive and mounted on (4) leg base frame with casters. Gap settings down to 0.001"

Vertical, rotor / stator mill – 304 S/S contact parts. Equipped with a five gallon jacketed hopper, re-circulation system, 5/8" inlet/outlets, bolt down lid with a 1/2" top inlet and a 2 7/8" diameter inlet to accept funnel. Additionally features a 2-1/2" diameter macerating blender prior to rotor / stator section. Mounted on a S/S base with locking castors.

5 roll mill used as a refiner for chocolate masses, creams, soaps, or inks, to ensure homogeneous product fineness. Each roller is 15" in diameter and 43" W with a working surface of 39.5" W and is jacketed for heating/cooling. The refiner features a product bin and receiver measuring 39" W x 51" T, and also has hydraulic roller height adjustments, control box with hour meter, plow lift/down, auto feed/clean out and E-stop. Unit allows independent control of the first roll rotation speed through a variable speed drive unit. The first roll is brought near the second roll, which remains fixed in position, by means of a hydraulic cylinder equipped with a precise positioning system. The centrifuged cast iron rolls have an extremely hard outer surface to allow for long life and limited wear.

Mikron, Mikro Pulverizer, Model 2LH, hammer mill with production rates per hour – depending on materials, application and machine configuration. Carbon steel contact parts. Equipped with 6" x 3½" feed throat, (3) 1½" OD feed augers powered by 1 Hp motor drive and has (12) 6" wide swinging impact hammers powered by 10 Hp motor drive. Reduced product discharge is 25" OD with 50" ground clearance. Mounted on (4) leg frame with casters.Used to grind, de-lump, pulverize and process wet / dry products.

Three liter capacity, S/S media mill used for grinding, dispersing, emulsifying, deflocculating and deagglomeration. Chamber size: 5.5" in Diameter; 8" in Length. Features a jacket for cooling/heating, drip tray, psi and temperature gauges. Requires media per application.
