Neck band applicators, or neck banders are designed to apply a heat-shrinkable film band around the neck of a bottle or container. Neck band applicators take a roll of tube film and fold the tube of film counter to its seams to open the tube film. The tube of film is then lower around the neck of the container by the neck band applicator. Neck bands can be either cut by the neck band applicator or can be supplied pre-perforated and simply pulled from the film stock by the neck band applicator. After the film band is placed on the neck of the container, the container passes through a neck band shrink tunnel that shrinks the film of the neck band around the neck and cap of the bottle. Neck bands are designed to be tamper evident so that the film of the neck band must be ruptured if the cap is removed from the container. Neck band applicators have special tooling often referred to as a “bullet” that is designed to open the flat film tube. This “bullet” is placed within the film tube, is held in place by tooling surrounding the film tube, and is specifically sized for the size of neck band. The “bullet” is a change part for neck band applicators. The operation of a neck band applicator is similar to the operation of a body sleeve applicator, though neck band applicators often have machine limitations that prevent them from applying full body sleeves.

Container size range: 1½" to 6" in diameter and 2¾" to 10" in height. Equipped with 24" product in feed worm screw, star wheel container indexing, dual 18" diameter film reels on 5" cores, dual unwind stations; one before and one after the 10½" wide perforation blade, static elimination, pull down applicator and interlocking safety guarding. Control panel includes push buttons for drive jog, perforation jog, start / reset and E-stop. Switch controls for feed drive on / off, static elimination on / off, cool / heat, choke feed manual / auto and jog / run. Variable speed dials for main drive, perforation low and perforation high.

PDC, Model F-200, automatic neck bander. Rated from 10 to 100 containers per minute – depending on materials, application and machine configuration. Band size range: 2½" to 6¾" in diameter and 1" to 2.3" in height. Layflat: 63mm to 242mm. Equipped with 24" product in feed worm screw, 22" diameter star wheel container indexing, powered unwind station horizontal perforation blade, vertical perforation wheel, static elimination, pull down applicator, (2) Leister pre-shrink heaters and interlocking safety guarding. Control panel with an AB controller, Pro-Face touch screen display, run / jog switch and E-stop.

PDC Intl. Corp. Model 65M, automatic, tamper evident, neck bander, sleever labeler. Rated from 50 to 200 neck bands, and 50 to 175 sleeve labels per minute – depending on materials and application Band / Sleeve size range: 3/8" to 3-1/4 in Diameter; 5/8" to 2" in Height. Equipped with worm screw container in feed, 15" diameter rotary container handling system, pre-shrink heater, vertical perforation wheel, film registration, static eliminator, powered film feed drive, material out sensor, low film indicator light, film tensioner, powered film unwind and interlocking safety guarding. Control panel with on/off switches for heat, choke feed, detect, static eliminator. Push button controls for pre-heat, start/reset, jog and e-stop. Variable speed dials for main drive and unwind drive. Mounted on stainless steel base frame. Designed to be mounted over existing conveyor.

Axon Model EZ200, automatic, shrink sleeve applicator. Layflat range: 56mm to 200mm. Film thickness: 40 to 70 microns. Equipped with knife film cut off, static eliminator, registration, touch pad controls with LED display and e-stop. Film specifications: up to 15" diameter roll on a 3" core. Speed dependant on materials, application mad machine configuration.
Axon, Model EZ-36-SRB2, Stainless steel, over the conveyor convection air, dual zone, neck band shrink tunnel with number of product per minute – depending on materials and application. Total Aperture: 10" in Height; 7½" in Width. Tunnels: (2) 36" in Length. Equipped with recirculating blower, digital temperature controller and e-stop. Mounted on a height adjustable frame.

Size range; 3/8" to 3" in diameter and 3/4" to 7" in height. Equipped with 24" product infeed screw, splicing table, knife cut off, low and out of material sensors, registration. Control panel has A/B PLC with touch screen controller. Mounted on (4) leg height adjustable frame with iterlocking safety guarding. Tunnel: PDC stainless steel, dual zone over conveyor neck band or sleeve label hot air shrink tunnel. Equipped with 72" long x 5" wide x 4-1/2" high shrink channel, capable of handling 4" OD necks by up to 6" high bans or sleeves, (2) Athena top mounted temperature controllers, with (3) 1 Hp blower motors and stainless steel stand to be mounted over existing conveyor.

Size range: 3/8" to 3" in diameter; 5/8" to 5" in height (with proper chage parts). 120mm maximum lay flat band width, minimum flat band width per application. Equipped with dual heads for continuous operation (one running while other loading) dual timing screws, dual powered film unwind, low film sensors, band pre-shrink, no container / no band sensor, static eliminator, Siko gauges, stepper band feed drives. Control panel with Allen Bradley PLC and Panel view operator interface. Additional features include dual speed capability (senses product infeed volume and adjusts machine speed accordingly) and Lexan guarding. Mounted on (4) leveling leg base frame. last running 350 cpm flat band width of 120mmset to run 67mm lay flat width x 35mm high neck bands onto 4-1/2" high container.
