There are many different names that are used to describe particle size reduction: milling, grinding, granulating, comminuting, etc. Milling systems can size reduce wet or dry powders. Their are variable speed drives that permit low speed screening and high speed impacting with one milling system. A typical milling system consists of an inlet chamber with a rotor screen and an outlet. The particle size depends upon the speed of the rotor, rotor type, screen hole size and the feed rate of the product. High shear granulation turns powders into dense granules for tableting or coating. Powders are added to a mixing bowl. A large impeller spins the powders into a vortex. A chopper tool shears the granules and removes the air. The granulated product is dried in the mixing bowl or fluid bed dryer.
5 roll mill used as a refiner for chocolate masses, creams, soaps, or inks, to ensure homogeneous product fineness. Each roller is 15" in diameter and 43" W with a working surface of 39.5" W and is jacketed for heating/cooling. The refiner features a product bin and receiver measuring 39" W x 51" T, and also has hydraulic roller height adjustments, control box with hour meter, plow lift/down, auto feed/clean out and E-stop. Unit allows independent control of the first roll rotation speed through a variable speed drive unit. The first roll is brought near the second roll, which remains fixed in position, by means of a hydraulic cylinder equipped with a precise positioning system. The centrifuged cast iron rolls have an extremely hard outer surface to allow for long life and limited wear.

Equipped with 6" x 3½" feed throat, (3) 1½" OD feed augers powered by 1 Hp motor drive and has (12) 6" wide swinging impact hammers powered by 10 Hp motor drive. Reduced product discharge is 25" OD with 50" ground clearance. Mounted on (4) leg frame with casters.Used to grind, de-lump, pulverize and process wet / dry products.

Three liter capacity, S/S media mill used for grinding, dispersing, emulsifying, deflocculating and deagglomeration. Chamber size: 5.5" in Diameter; 8" in Length. Features a jacket for cooling/heating, drip tray, psi and temperature gauges. Requires media per application.

316 S/S variable speed hammer mill. Equipped with 16 blades, knife / impact, 4" auger feed screw, 12" x 12" feed chute and an 11" L X 6" chamber. Type 225 fixed 420 S/S blades w/reversible blunt or knife edge. Discharge height of 36".
Fitzpatrick Model IR520, 316 stainless steel, pilot or small volume roller compactor, rated up to 150 kg of product per hour – depending on materials, application machine configuration and environment being run in. (2) screw feed design with 13" long x 9" wide x 10" deep ID stainless steel product hopper and rotary assist feeder to 3" OD x 12" long horizontal screw that eliminates vacuum dearation to 2" OD x 18" long vertical pre-compression screw that compresses product for more uniformity prior to feeding into the 2" wide x 8" OD groved product compaction rollers with roller force of 26.3 KN/CM and roll gap of 1mm to 6mm and has a capacity of 150 Kg an hour and powered by 5 Hp motor drive with noise level rating of 75 DB. Mobile control panel has A/B controller with parker panel view touch pad controls, A/B vari-speed controllers and e-stop. Mounted on (4) stainless steel legs with casters.

Equipped with 14" long x 14" wide x 8" deep stainless steel product hopper, (2) 3" OD stainless steel vari speed metering feed screw to enclosed process chamber with (32) fixed stainless steel knife / impact blades and 7" diameter product discharge port with 30" ground clearance. Mounted on stainless steel frame.

Equipped with 4" OD horizontal metering screw with 1 Hp motor drive that eliminates vacuum dearation to 4 OD" vertical pre-compression screw with 5 Hp motor drive, that compresses product for more uniformity prior to feeding into the 4" OD x 10" long face cored product compaction rollers with 7.5 Hp motor drive and bulk densities of feed from 10 to 100 lbs per cubic foot and roll force of 17.5 KN/cm with roll gap range of 1mm to 6mm. Has Fitzmill model DKASO12 knife rotor hammer mill with 10 Hp motor drive. Control cabinet with AMP meters and digital RPM indicators for rolls, verticle and horizontal screws, variable frequency speed controls with start and stop push buttons and e-stop. Mounted on (4) stainless steel legs.

Equipped with 7¾" ID x 8½" OD x 8" deep stainless steel product feed hopper (2) 3" OD stainless steel vari speed metering feed screw to enclosed process chamber with (32) fixed stainless steel knife / impact blades and 13½" long by 10½" wide product discharge port with 30" ground clearance. Mounted on stainless steel frame.
