Tank Jacketed are tanks that are required to heat and or cool a product use jackets to allow for heating medium to indirectly heat the product, which is usually under agitation. Jacketing can also be broken down into zones especially in vertical tanks, which allows the jacket heating or cooling to follow the level of product in the tank. As for horizontal tanks, this jacket may cover the entire tank or just the bottom. In most instances the jacketing is covered with insulation and an over wrap to maintain the integrity and efficiency of the heat transfer from the jacket to the product. Tanks with a pressure jacket are designed to heat or cool products inside the tank, or to maintain temperature.
